The Greek government has decided to interrupt the Greek football league following the stoppage of the match between PAOK Thessaloniki and AEK Athens on Sunday night, as well as recent events.
The match between PAOK Thessaloniki and AEK Athens for the Greek Super League at Toumba stadium was temporarily stopped after the referee and his assistants deliberated whether to allow or disallow a PAOK goal in the 90th minute of the match.
In a letter sent to Deputy Sports Minister George Vasssiliadis, AEK Athens effectively called for the interruption of the Greek Super League until all pending legal disputes between teams have conclusively been dealt with by the competent authorities.
