Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill on Sunday did not mention Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece among the primates of the local Orthodox churches during the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Sputnik has reported.

Meeting at the Maximos Mansion on Tuesday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos agreed there must be a new start in Church-State relations that is based on sincerity and respect for their separate roles, which will not become the object of exploitation by political parties.

The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece Hierarchy will be convening on Friday to discuss the intention of the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to make changes in the relations between the Greek State and the Church.
