Bank of Greece: “Alarm bells” for this year’s surplus

The Governor of the Bank of Greece, Yiannis Stournaras characterized the target for a primary surplus of 3.5% for this year as “unattainable”.
The European Commission on Friday said that Greek support, approved by the Commission in 2014 and 2015, for National Bank of Greece remains compatible with EU State aid rules based on a new commitments package submitted by the Greek authorities.
The Bank of Greece (BoG) on Monday revised, downwards, it forecast for Greek GDP growth in 2019, at under 2 percent annually. The forecast in the budget for 2019 is 2.5 percent.
