On the back of a newly inked agreement with Chinese carrier Juneyao Air for direct flights from Shanghai to Athens as of July 2020, Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis said on Monday that the ministry was preparing a strategic plan to reach out to the Chinese market aiming to bring some 500,000 Chinese travelers to Greece by 2021.

Greece wants to get a share of the more that 10 million Chinese tourists who came to Europe last year with authorities aiming to tap into an ever-growing tourist market.
