The government has been dealt another slap from the EU Commission that has frozen the sale of natural gas provider DESFA to Azeri state firm Socar at least until March.
Through carefully worded statements European commission president Jose Manul Barroso chided the Greek government for being ineffective, while lauding the Greek people for its great sacrifices , in an interview with German newspaper Bild.
High unemployment and the lack of liquidity in the market for the support of small and medium-sized enterprises are the main problems of the Greek economy, which the European Commission believes, "will stabilize in 2014 and revert to a positive growth rate."
