The Greek foreign ministry has presented a demarche over the new Turkish Navtex for research of the Turkish oceanographic vessel Cesme in the Aegean, foreign ministry spokesperson Alexandros Papaioannou said during a regular press briefing on Thursday.

A demarche was presented to the Turkish ambassador at the Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry earlier on Monday, related to requests by the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) for permission to drill in areas within Greece's continental shelf, diplomatic sources said.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry today asked the Greek Ambassador in Ankara Kyriakos Loukakis, a day after the demarche to the Turkish ambassador in Athens Kerim Uras for Turkish Directive surveys in areas of the Cyprus EEZ.
