In an article entitled “Give Iris her body back, Britain”, the Washington Post says it is time for the British Museum to consider handing back the Parthenon sculptures to Greece.

Sarah Baxter, a deputy editor of The Sunday Times in Britain has written a piece entitled “The sane move is to give Greece back its Elgin Marbles”, calling on British PM Boris Johnson to return the Parthenon Marbles back to Greece, adding that such a move would be a clear a gesture of solidarity and friendship.

The oft repeated argument that the Parthenon Sculptures were not stolen, but were the gift of Sultan Selim III, to British Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire, was reiterated by the descendant of Thomas Bruce, the 7th Earl of Elgin.
