When a pan of ratatouille costs as much as a pork stew, or stuffed peppers with feta cheese as much as beef and a kilo of beans costs as much as half a chicken, changes to the daily table are inevitable, especially in low-income households.

Inflation in Greece: 12.3% price explosion in food

Inflation picked up speed again in July as the rally in food prices continued with no end in sight. After slipping below the 2% mark in June (1.8%), the annual consumer price index stood at 2.5% last month as food prices jumped another 12.3%.
