Blick, Switzerland's largest newspaper, urges Swiss and German-speaking travelers to change habits and prefer secluded islands without mass tourism, such as Karpathos.

Karpathos is among the 14 alternative destinations from around the world that have the charm of being different and unexplored and have been "overlooked" or "underestimated" by mass tourism,  according to British newspaper Daily Mail and the timeout.com website.

In National Geographic's annual established list of the world's 25 most extraordinary destinations for 2023, Karpathos (the only place from Greece) is included in the subcategory of preserving local communities.
