Deputy Foreign Minister for Greek Diaspora Affairs Yiannis Loverdos – the fifth chosen by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the 6-year government – in less than three months made his second official visit to the US, which differed from the previous one in April to Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York.

Greek Parliament deputies, as expected, on Friday voted by a wide margin to lift the immunity status for former ministers Andreas Loverdos and Marios Salmas, from the PASOK and New Democracy parties, respectively.

The parliament plenary on Friday decided to lift the immunity from prosecution of Democratic Alliance MP Andreas Loverdos and New Democracy (ND) MP Marios Salmas, at the request of the prosecutors investigating the Novartis and arthroscopies cases, respectively.
