Inevitably the electoral battle for Piraeus is becoming the focus of interest as it is arguably the municipality that has most upset the established political status quo, in these elections.

The incumbent Sgouros is seen as favored by 23.5% of respondents, as against 20.6% favoring Dourou, 13% Giorgos Koumoutsakos, 8.7% Thanasis Pafilis, 7.2% Petros Haikalis, 5.4% Ilias Panayotaros, 2.1% Thanos Tzimeros, 2% Petros Mantouvalos, 1.9% Maria Yannakaki, 1.9% Despoina Koutsouba, 1.1% Antonis Gakis, while 12.6% are undecided.

It's already been six months that Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos has been in jail awaiting trial and today, the Board of Appeals ruled that he should remain in custody for another six months.
