Turkey’s Permanent Delegate Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the European Union, Faruk Kaymakci added fuel to the fire of the Greek-Turkish relations by stating that “flowers, flags or picnics on these rocky islands were provocative” in an interview to Euroactiv.com.

Only a day after the serious incident over the Isle of Ro when Greek soldiers fired warning shots in the air at a Turkish helicopter, Turkish pro-government newspaper “Yeni Safak” used a provocative main headline reading “If a Greek ship was hit and sunk”.

Greek PM Alexis Tsipras said Greece was threatening nobody but did not fear anyone either, referring to relations with Turkey, during a cabinet meeting on Holy Tuesday.
