Olympiakos Piraeus sprung a surprise by securing a 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in their UEFA Champions League group stage opener.

Environment Minister Yiannis Maniatis and Athens Mayor Georgos Kaminis announced the construction of the so-called “Metropolitan Cycle Path”, along a 27-kilometre course. It will begin from Kifissia and will end in Faliro, after passing through the city center of Athens.

A new building including 15 operating rooms at the Evangelismos Hospital, donated by National Bank, was inaugurated by Health Minister Makis Voridis.
