Woman convicted of husband Polish Professor's murder takes own life in prison

The ex-wife of 43-year-old Polish professor Przemysław Jeziorski, who was accused of being the mastermind behind his murder in Agia Paraskevi, committed suicide last night in the Korydallos women's prison. According to information, the 43-year-old committed suicide using sheets in the bathroom of her cell in Korydallos prison.

Information from protothema.gr also reports that the woman left a note before ending her life.

The murder of the Polish professor took place in July 2025 and along with the 43-year-old who was accused of being the mastermind of the crime, four people were also arrested. Among them, the 35-year-old man with whom the 43-year-old was allegedly in a relationship was accused of being the physical mastermind of the crime.

The crime in Agia Paraskevi
The crime took place on the afternoon of July 4, 2025, on Irini Street in Agia Paraskevi. The Berkeley professor, who had come to Greece to see the children he had with his ex-wife, an economist by profession, was murdered in cold blood, shortly before picking up the two minors.

From the moment the main puzzle was solved, that is, the identity of the victim was established, the investigations turned to the immediate environment - the people he knew and who knew him in Greece. Quickly, the police determined that the relationship between the two ex-spouses had gone through "forty waves" and their divorce was explosive. The ex-wife was examined repeatedly and despite her denial, the police had begun to piece together the puzzle, until they reached the full picture and proceeded to make the arrests.

The ex-spouses had irreconcilable differences not only in relation to their children, but also of a financial nature, concerning companies they had founded in the US.

The university professor's ex-wife pressured her 35-year-old new partner to find people willing to hit her ex-husband for pay, but in the process she allegedly insisted on killing him, setting up a scene that referred to a "professional" hit, organized in individual details.

The three foreigners identified by the woman's current partner came from Nafplio to Athens. The two Albanian defendants rented the car that they parked a short distance from Irinis Street, while the Bulgarian is alleged to have been the one who gave the weapon of the crime, a Tokarev, to the perpetrator, the ex-wife's 35-year-old partner.

The Bulgarian was known to the 35-year-old. He, dressed in black and wearing a mask, stood calmly in front of the Polish professor and began shooting him without hesitation. When he saw him fall covered in blood, he quickly moved away and got into the car where his three accomplices were waiting for him, a short distance away.

The four men confessed their guilt and then described the role of the woman, who declared herself “innocent”.

KAT's statement

It is recalled that the two 17-year-olds had jumped into the void from the roof of a six-story apartment building in Ilioupoli on Tuesday (12/5). One student was killed on the spot and the second was fighting in the ICU, where she unfortunately ended up.

As police sources reported to protothema.gr, the two friends made the fatal decision together, after having consumed a quantity of vodka. They wrote notes, explaining the reasons that led them there, climbed onto the roof of the apartment building, locked the door, put on headphones listening to music and fell into the void, holding hands.

The first student who expired on Tuesday had left a note in which, according to information, she wrote that she was depressed, that she loved her parents and that they were not to blame for anything. She also mentioned that she thought she would disappoint them because she would not succeed in the national exams. “I don’t want to live in this world,” she concluded.

The police also found a diary in the home of the second 17-year-old who was hospitalized in the KAT, in which she wrote that she was depressed and that she might disappoint her parents with the national exams.

Greek-American accuses senator's children of pushing his husband to suicide with homophobic insults

A shocking lawsuit alleges that the children of Democratic Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon relentlessly tortured their mother's personal assistant, leading to his suicide.

Brandon O'Brien, 35, worked for the senator's wife, Nancy Bass Wyden, owner of the famed Strand Bookstore, from June 2022 to September 2024 and was "often responsible" for caring for the couple's young children, including driving them to school in New York and watching them during trips to Disneyworld.

What O'Brien's Husband Alleges
The disturbing behavior began in September 2022, when the couple's then-10-year-old daughter made "sexually lewd" comments and asked him about his "personal life" while he was walking her to school, O'Brien's husband, Thomas Maltese, alleges in court documents filed against Bass Wyden and her company, Bass Real Estate LLC. He claims the girl's mother allegedly did nothing about her daughter's behavior.

The Wydens' teenage son also hurled homophobic slurs at O'Brien and threatened that "his football team would rape him," according to the lawsuit. He also allegedly threw objects at O’Brien, and the mother at one point used pepper spray on her son to restrain him, but accidentally sprayed her assistant as well. Maltese claims the incidents took place at Disney in front of him and his mother.

The businesswoman’s lawyers are asking that the lawsuit be dismissed, arguing that it is “baseless and deeply misleading” and “full of false allegations.” “This appears to be a continued effort to distract from O’Brien’s own serious misconduct, including a documented pattern of theft from those he once worked for,” a spokesperson said.

Resignation and suicide
O'Brien resigned on September 30, 2024, and a day later, Bass Wyden filed a complaint with the New York Police Department accusing him of stealing $650,000 from credit cards and other thefts. The businesswoman also allegedly hired a private investigator to "investigate Mr. O'Brien's personal life and business dealings" and "spread false rumors."

O'Brien committed suicide on May 26. Maltezos announced his death in a social media post, saying he was devastated. Authorities dropped the theft case after the suicide, while Maltezos' lawyers insisted the accusation was false.
