Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Tanju Bilgic said that a ship seized off the island of Crete by Greek security forces en route from Turkey to Libya was registered to a Greek company and was carrying “legal arms” to Sudanese police.

Former Greek Prime Minister and party president emeritus, Konstantinos Mitsotakis, had dinner with New Democracy’s president,Vagelis Meimarakis.

"The visit of two leading members of the European Commission, Vice-President Frans Timmermans and Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos, is a political message of support to our country in finding practical solutions to effectively confront the migration crisis," the head of the European Commission representation in Greece Panos Karvounis said in a statement on Thursday.
