The 50% reduction in port charges will make a significant contribution to the effort to contain prices on ferry tickets, in view of the increases announced by shippers from May 1 due to the fuel change, the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Vassilis Kikilias.

A fierce battle against the flames was being fought on two fronts, those of Grammatiko and Kallitechnoupolis, while the situation in Dionysos, Varnavas and Mikrochori was visibly better, Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Vasilis Kikilias said on Monday.

Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, in a post on "X" platform  addressed the wildfires faced by firefighting forces on Friday. Kikilias emphasized that "the prolonged heatwave, drought, strong winds, and increased dry lightning activity severely tested the efforts of firefighters, who tackled 68 fires across the country."
