The largest delegation of US universities is expected to arrive in Athens early November in order to make new collaborations with the Greek public universities and to make official the existing ones. A visit that has been characterised from both sides 'a landmark for the two countries' cooperation with the deepening of the US-Greek relations and in the field of education.

Greece needs modern, autonomous universities that will serve an open society, New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in an article published in "Kathimerini" newspaper's Sunday edition and urged people to block a government bill on universities which he said will "turn back the clock many years". 

Greek university career center directors and employees are being sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Athens, for a 10-day trip to the United States.
