USS Harry Truman (CVN 75) crossed the Straits of Gibraltar and entered the Mediterranean. Its arrival coincides with the start of ExxonMobil drilling in the Cyprus EEZ.
The USS Harry Truman (CVN 75) carrier task force entered the Mediterranean yesterday afternoon, heading for the eastern Mediterranean and the point where attacks against targets in Syria were launched in the spring.
With a crew of 5,000 men and women, it had stopped at the port of Lisbon for a four-day trip to commemorate the anniversary of the end of World War I and the opportunity to rest and recreate crews.
The news came from the International Automatic Identification System that recorded the US Navy's navigational crossings of Gibraltar.
However, it can not be overlooked that its arrival coincides with the start of the promising drilling in the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) by US energy colossus ExxonMobil.
It is worth noting that the US Aircraft Battlegroup is absolutely battleworthy, as it participated in NATO's Trident Juncture 2018 exercise, the largest Allied Exercise after the end of the Cold War, which ran from 25 October to 7 November.
