Houthis assume responsibility for the attack on the Greek-owned ship

Featured Houthis assume responsibility for the attack on the Greek-owned ship

The Houthis officially claimed responsibility for the missile attack against the Greek-owned cargo ship "Zografia", which was heading to Israel.

Their spokesman Yahya Sharia confirmed in a statement that the Houthis targeted the ship "Zografia" with anti-ship missiles that "struck their target". He even warned that the Houthis will continue their attacks to "defend Yemen" and express "solidarity with the Palestinian people".

The Greek-owned Maltese-flagged cargo ship was struck while sailing 76 nautical miles northwest of the Yemeni port of Salif, according to Vulcanis Technical Maritime Enterprises.

The company informed the Ministry of Shipping that there is no injury to any crew member, the damage does not affect its operation and that it continues its journey towards Suez.

The "Zografia", which had left Vietnam for Israel, suffered only material damage and continued its journey, while all crew members - three Filipinos, 20 Ukrainians and one Georgian - are in good health.

According to Reuters, US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the attack on Tuesday was launched with four anti-ship missiles.

US forces carried out another strike in Yemen on Tuesday, in a part of the country controlled by the Houthis, as a missile hit a Greek-owned vessel in the Red Sea.

The Houthis have threatened to expand their attacks to include United States ships in response to US and British raids on various locations in Yemen.
