Twelve Greek citizens were among a few hundred foreign nationals permitted to exit the Gaza Strip on Thursday, through the Rafah border crossing, into Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.
The war-footing in the Middle East, following Hamas’ terror attacks in southern Israel and the latter’s expected ground operation against Gaza, has expectedly caused turbulence in global markets, with Athens now concerned over its burgeoning bilateral trade with Israel.
Athens wants an active role on the diplomatic chessboard, following closely but with growing concern the developments in the Middle East, especially after the bloodshed in the hospital in Gaza. Kyriakos Mitsotakis was planning, according to information, to go to Israel, tomorrow, Thursday.
