The strengthening of bilateral relations and the exploration of ways to further deepen bilateral cooperation between Greece and the US was the focus of contacts held by Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, in Washington, DC.

In a rare diplomatic move, Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis visited Damascus on Sunday, becoming one of the first European Union officials to engage directly with Syrian leadership amid the country’s prolonged civil war.

Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis is set to visit Syria, Israel, and the West Bank in a bid to strengthen Greece’s diplomatic ties in the Middle East.
