Για έξι ακόμη μήνες και ειδικότερα έως τις 31/07/2018, ψηφίστηκε η ανανέωση της εντολής της Ειρηνευτικής Δύναμης του Ο.Η.Ε. στην Κύπρο (UNFICYP), από το Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας των Ηνωμένων Εθνών στις 30 Ιανουαρίου 2018.

The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) is now being led by Norwegian Major General Kristin Lund, marking the first time in history that a female had commanded a UN peacekeeping force.

Cyprus has stated its disapproval to the United Nations, concerning the terms "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" and "Turkish Cypriot police", that were used in a UNFICYP document, according to reports.
