The British television network BBC2 is planning TV shootings in Thessaloniki and Imathia on 24-31 July, with the support of the Greek Tourism Organisation (EOT), with the view to promoting popular and lesser-known Greek destinations abroad, through the industry of entertainment.

The European Commission has awarded an extra 82.6 million euros in emergency funding to Greece under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Internal Security Fund (ISF).

Strongly criticising the government's proposals for amending election law, main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Thursday said they would lead to an inability to form a government, while he accused the government of "petty political manoeuvring" and "political amoralism".

A new election law, introducing simple proportional representation of the political parties in Parliament, was passed in Parliament early on Friday.
