Tsipras unwilling to sign any troika agreement

Main opposition Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) leader Alexis Tsipras said in an interview to private Skai television on Monday that he will never sign an agreement requested by Greece's troika of lenders, as Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has done, not just because he is not Samaras but also because there is an ethical perspective and "we do not have the right to make that blunder."

No fiscal gap says FinMin

The government considers that, as in the past estimates have been proven true, there will be not fiscal gap and this is the most serious disagreement with the troika, Finance Ministry sources said on Tuesday referring to comments made to radio stations that the government has proposed additional fiscal measures to the troika in order to cover a possible gap in the State Budget.

Tourism VAT hike will spell disaster

SETE, the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises has decried the troika demand for increases in VAT across the tourism sector, saying that the planned hikes would be ‘catastrophic’ as they will lead to 2.5 million fewer tourists in 2015, a 3.8 billion euro contraction of GDP and thousands of job losses.
