"God provides the wind, Man must raise the sail." With this classic quote of St. Augustine, Parliament President Nikitas Kaklamanis welcomed Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I to a historic Special Plenary Session of the Hellenic Parliament on Tuesday.

The Hellenic Parliament is “adopting” the child of the unfortunate coast guard who was killed in the line of duty in Paralio Astros, as announced by the president of the Corps, Nikitas Kaklamanis.

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Parliament approved, by majority vote, the Ministry of National Defence's bill on the "Ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Greek Ministry of Defence and the Ministries of Defence of France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Northern Ireland, regarding the Transfer of the Program for the Design and Development of Next-Generation Helicopters (NGRC)."
