Defence committee approves MoU on NATO next generation helicopter program

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Parliament approved, by majority vote, the Ministry of National Defence's bill on the "Ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Greek Ministry of Defence and the Ministries of Defence of France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Northern Ireland, regarding the Transfer of the Program for the Design and Development of Next-Generation Helicopters (NGRC)."
Only MPs from New Democracy voted in favour of the ratification, while the opposition parties, including the Greek Communist Party (KKE), NIKI, Spartiates, and PASOK, along with SYRIZA, Elliniki Lisi, Nea Aristera, and Plefsi Eleftherias, declared that they would reserve their positions to address it during the plenary discussion and vote on Wednesday.
