An internal conflict seems to have broken out inside the Independent Greeks (ANEL) party after MP Rachel Makri went on air defending the party president after two deputies declared their independence from the party.

Judicial authorities in Thessaloniki have asked Parliament to lift the immunity of Panos Kammenos, head of the Independent Greeks party so that he can face trial for incitement to violence.
