Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will have a series of international contacts within this week on the occasion of the EU summit on December 15 and the European Left party congress to be held on December 16 and 17, according to government sources.

Europe is at a difficult turning point and we all need to realize that the great threat is the rise of the extreme right and Europe cannot move ahead based only on punishing policies, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Monday welcoming German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier at the Maximos Mansion.

"It is a great honour to be here in Cuba, covering thousands of kilometers, to pay tribute to a great leader who inspired not only the Cuban people and the peoples of Latin America, but also the revolutionary flame across the globe," Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Tuesday.
