Russia officially opened its TurkStream natural gas pipeline on Wednesday, further diversifying export routes to Europe amid a backlash from the U.S.
On the final day of his official visit to the U.S. and his second day at Washington DC, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with prominent members of the two congressional legislatures, the Senate and the House of Representatives of the United States.
"In the framework of the regular political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Greece and Turkey, talks will be held in Ankara on 10 January 2020 between delegations under the chairmanship of H.E. Ambassador Themistoklis Demiris, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece and H.E. Ambassador Sedat Önal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, the foreign ministry said on Thursday.
"During the political consultations, bilaretal relations, regional and international issues will be addressed," it added.
