"China is a strategic partner for Greece not only for economic reasons but also because of the cultural depth of the relations between the two countries", stated Secretary General of Information and Communication Mr. Lefteris Kretsos, welcoming the delegations of the French-speaking Central Chinese TV network (CCTV) and the Chinese International Radio (CRI). Mr. Kretsos noted that media are a privileged area for further deepening these relations.

Economy and Development Minister Dimitris Papadimitriou, in a meeting on Monday with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Greece, Zou Xiaoli, said Greece is interested in the prospect of participation by China Development Bank (CDB) in a planned Greek development bank.

Greek state budget recorded a primary surplus of 3.544 billion euros in the January-August period, from a primary surplus of 2.117 billion in the same period last year and a budget target for a surplus of 3.573 billion, the Finance ministry said on Monday.
