In today's local elections, New Democracy Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras offered statements after placing their votes.

Today marks the initial round of local Greek elections this week, in addition to European Parliament elections held next week.

During Prime Minister Antonis Samaras' northern Greece visit to the bypass tunnels at Panteleimonas, he stated: "Greece has rebooted its potential and we are ready for the next day, looking into the future and taking steady steps forward".
