Pushing to make Greece attractive year-round and not just seen as a summer spot for beaches, islands and historical spots, Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis said the country needs a new model that would also bring people to Athens – which has developed a buzz – as well as other areas at off-peak times.

The German financial magazine Handelsblatt focuses on the rising interest of foreign investors in the Greek real estate market, stressing that this increased appeal had resulted in domestic tenants suffering as they are being pushed out by landowners who want to ride the wave of the market boom to raise their profit.

Ermou St – one of the Greek capital’s main thoroughfares – has moved up the list of the world’s most expensive streets to 14th spot from 15th last year, and 25th in 2016, according to real estate brokers Cushman & Wakefield.
