Efthymios Lekkas, Professor of Dynamic Tectonics, Applied Geology & Natural Disaster Management at Athens University, mentioned the medium and long-term effects of severe weather front Daniel in a television interview.

 "The climate crisis is dangerous and threatening for all. The answer must be given by everyone," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Thursday addressing the parliament during a debate on the wildfires.

An emergency interministerial meeting was being held on Monday at the Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Ministry, chaired by Minister Vassilis Kikilias, on the situation created by the major wildifires and the extreme fire risk that is forecast for Tuesday.
