Summers in southeastern Europe are growing longer and more oppressive with each passing year. In cities, coastal areas, and rural and forested regions alike, heat lingers further into the calendar and reshapes the rhythms of everyday life. This summer is not expected to be any different. Scientific models for the region indicate a trend toward sustained above-normal temperatures, driven by ocean warming and global climate mechanisms such as El Nino, which may be amplifying the worldwide thermal anomaly.

Greek artist Manos Ioannidis has received recognition from the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) for his compelling visual commentary on climate change, employing raw and unsettling imagery to raise global environmental awareness.

The climate crisis is already here and threatens lives, assets, and critical infrastructure, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Wednesday, speaking at the Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Ministry at the event on the 'Aegis' civil protection preparedness project, the largest of its kind in Greece.
