Harsh retort from Athens to threats from Ankara

Athens' responded  in harsh tones to yesterday's threats launched by Ankara against Greece and Cyprus warning, among other things, that it will intervene in order to prevent any Nicosia effort for drilling inside the Cypriot EEZ.

Message to Ankara from Greece, Egypt and Cyprus

In the wake of Greece's defense agreements with France and the United States, the 9th Greece-Egypt-Cyprus Tripartite Summit is taking place today, Tuesday, in Athens, at which key regional policy issues are on the table, focusing on developments in the Eastern Mediterranean. the Cyprus issue and Libya, as well as the dynamics of cooperation having as a spearhead the energy sector.

 "There are countries in our neighborhood that, even in contrast to the interest of their societies, are trying to revive old empires and old perceptions," Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Sunday after the Greece-Cyprus-Israel tripartite meeting held in Jerusalem.
"Literally buried in the sand of the past," he said. "And they use a lot of tools. Military invasions in other countries, interference in other countries' internal affairs. And, of course, sometimes they instrumentalize migration, which is completely unacceptable," he said.
