The 2030 Agenda is the largest reform that has ever taken place in the Armed Forces. The rapid technological developments, cyber attacks and Artificial Intelligence as well as the armed conflicts of recent years in our region, emphasize more than ever the need for the modernization and adaptation of the Armed Forces to the new data.  This was emphasized by the Minister of Defense Nikos Dendias, in an interview he gave to the newspaper "Naftemporiki".

The armaments programmes, armed forces' salaries and the modernisation of the infrastructure dominated a meeting on Monday between the national defence ministry's civilian and military leadership and main opposition SYRIZA-PA President Stefanos Kasselakis, who was accompanied on his visit by retired Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, a former defence minister and armed forces' chief.

"Following an order of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, I asked the Hellenic National Defence General Staff general Konstantinos Floros and the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral Ioannis Drymousis to proceed with the participation of a Greek Navy frigate in the multinational operation "Prosperity Guardian" regarding the protection of the merchant ships, the lives of the seamen and the international economy," Defence Minister Nikos Dendias said on Thursday.
