The developments surrounding the port of Elefsina - Eleusis are rapid, and according to government sources, it is now on track to become a second major national hub, capable of operating in parallel and in certain sectors in competition with the port of Piraeus.

A tradition rooted in the worship of ancient Greek agriculture and harvest goddess Demeter, the "polysporia", revived again this year in the area of ancient Eleusis, on the eve of the Virgin Mary's Presentation (Nov. 21), on Wednesday.

The town of Eleusis in west Attica has officially been named cultural capital of Europe for 2021.
