An ultimatum of contract termination to doctors contracted by EOPYY health fund has been issued by deputy health minister Antonis Bezas unless they call off their strike.

Through a decision of the president of public health security organization EOPYY, 59 doctors are having contracts terminated for over-prescribing medicines, and are having their electronic rights for prescriptions revoked.

Health insurance fund EOPYY has been burdened by 53 million euros worth of prescribed drugs and examinations by just 87 doctors.
