Eurostat: Greece is the champion in debt reduction
The general government gross debt-to-GDP ratio in the euro area stood at 88.2% at the end of the second quarter of 2025, up from 87.7% at the end of the first quarter of 2025. In the EU, the ratio also increased from 81.5% to 81.9%.

Greek workers had the longest average working week in the European Union in 2024, clocking in 39.8 hours, according to data released by Europe’s statistical authority, Eurostat.

Annual inflation in Greece at 2.3 pct in May 2024, according to Eurostat flash estimate
The annual inflation rate in Greece is expected to shrink to 2.3 percent in May, down from 3.2 percent in April and 4.1% in May 2023, according to a flash estimate released by Eurostat on Friday.
Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 2.6 percent in May 2024, up from 2.4 percent in April, according to Eurostat's report.
