Firefighters were scrambling for one more night to put out the flare-ups in Evros.

A government echelon is visiting Evros today, in order to carry out a first assessment of the disaster. It is headed by the Minister of State Makis Voridis, accompanied by the Minister of Citizen Protection Yiannis Economou, the Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis and the Deputy Minister of the Interior Thodoris Livanios.

The fire continues to burn in Parnitha, with the picture being clearly better, while in Evros the fire is ongoing for the 7th day. A battle to extinguish the fire is also being fought in Boeotia.
