Greek Finance Ministry sources refuted European Commission projections showing the country’s economy is set to fall short of agreed post-bailout primary surplus target, thus creating a fiscal hole in the budget.

Twenty-four hours nationwide strike and a demonstration outside the Finance Ministry currently takes place by the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Local Government Employees.

The finance ministry is examining a plan to increase the maximum number of monthly installments available for the payment of debts to the state under the standard debt settlement scheme, which currently stand at 12 months.
