The majority of citizens oppose the use of the term “Macedonia” in the name of FYROM, according to a poll of the University of Macedonia (PMAK) for the ELIAMEP institute.

The crowds that gathered in downtown Athens, on Sunday, to protest the use of the term "Macedonia" by FYROM sent its own messages to the political world.

The UN special envoy on the name dispute between Greece and FYROM, Matthew Nimetz said he had heard nothing from the Greek side that denied the identity of the people of FYROM, during a joint press conference with FYROM Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov following their meeting in Skopje.
