“We are committed to trying to find a solution to the name issue of FYROM”, the UN special mediator on the matter, Matthew Nimetz said after the end of the meeting between Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and his FYROM counterpart, Nikola Dimitrov in Vienna.

The UN special envoy on the name dispute between Greece and FYROM, Matthew Nimetz said he had heard nothing from the Greek side that denied the identity of the people of FYROM, during a joint press conference with FYROM Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov following their meeting in Skopje.

United Nations mediator Matthew Nimetz, shortly before arriving in Athens and Skopje, for contacts with the two governments, appeared optimistic that a solution to the name of FYROM could be found.
