The Greek tourism sector contributed 18.6 pct (32.8 billion euros) to the country’s GDP in 2016, according to a report by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

Greek GDP contracted by 1.3 pct in current prices in 2015, surpassing an initial estimate for a 0.9 pct contraction, although GDP shrank by 0.2 pct in volume, unchanged from an initial estimate, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.
