General Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde returned to Washington yesterday to take part in today’s crucial meeting of the IMF Board of Directors, and will attempt to convince the Fund’s members to agree on the body’s participation in the new Greek Programme.

The Greek programme will be discussed in the plenary session of the European parliament in Brussels on Thursday at 10:30.

The institutions are currently examining the conditions the IMF will accept to finance the Greek programme ahead of the Eurogroup meeting that will start at 16:00 (Athens time) in Brussels.
