The continued detention of two Greek servicemen in a Turkish prison for straying into its territory illegally will be discussed at the European Parliament’s plenary session, convening from April 16 to 19, according to the preparatory group meeting on Wednesday.

Greek soldiers in Lamia wanted to honour their two fellow soldiers who are being held in a Turkish prison, by setting up an Easter table with traditional Greek food and wine, sending a message of hope for their safe arrival back home.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew expressed his hope that two Greek servicemen being held in a maximum security prison in the city of Adrianople in Turkey, since March 1, would soon be released and return to their families and duties.
