Greek soldiers in Lamia wanted to honour their two fellow soldiers who are being held in a Turkish prison, by setting up an Easter table with traditional Greek food and wine, sending a message of hope for their safe arrival back home.
Easter Sunday, a table with two empty chairs was set up in the middle of the room, dedicated to Sergeant Dimitris Kouklatzis, 27, and Lieutenant Angelos Mitretodis, 25, who have been held in a Turkish prison since March 1st.
The photographs were taken by the Regional Governor of Fthiotida, Thymios Karaiskos, who visited the Greek soldiers in Lamia for Easter celebrations and well wishes.
The specific measure was also taken up by other units across Greece.
