Berlin is offering help, but the mayors of the Greek islands do not use so they can press for the refugees to leave for the mainland, according to the German interior minister.

Migration Minister Yiannis Mouzalas made a plea to the residents of the northern Aegean islands to contribute to the construction of reception centers for the migrants and refugees otherwise the agreement between EU and Turkey will be at stake.

The Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), representing over 50,000 businesses, is calling on the government to reconsider plans to construct so-called hotspots, or refugee registration centers, at major tourist locations across the country.
