Greece officially hosts 54,000 refugees and illegal migrants at shelters across the country.

The government is working hard to have all 5 hotspots and refugee reception centers ready by the next European Summit, scheduled to take place this coming Thursday.

Hotspots in Greece and Italy will be ready in four weeks the latest, European Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos said in an interview with Sueddeutsche Zeitung on Tuesday.
