The Hellenic Parliament, in a plenary session on Thursday, ratified four concessions allowing the exploratory drilling and extraction of hydrocarbons in regions of the Ionian Sea and waters west of Crete.

Four bills ratifying a number of leases for the concession of exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in four maritime areas in Crete and the Ionian Sea were submitted to the Greek parliament yesterday by the ministry of environment and energy.

Over the next ten days, contracts for the concession of the Ionian and Kyparissia Gulf regions for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons will be signed. Meanwhile, contracts for research in the Marine area of Crete have been sent to the Court of Auditors and their submission to the House for ratification, before the summer.
